Sedlec (České Budějovice District)

Sedlec is a municipality and village in České Budějovice District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.

Sedlec consists of five municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 census):[2] The name is common in the Czech Republic.

After the Battle of White Mountain in 1620, the estate was donated to Charles Bonaventure, Count of Bucquoy.

Then the estate was acquired by the Schwarzenberg family, which owned Sedlec until the establishment of an independent municipality in 1848.

[6] The I/20 road (part of the European route E49) from České Budějovice to Plzeň and Karlovy Vary passes through the municipality.
