[2] The team qualified for its first Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in 2012, held in Equatorial Guinea, but did not advance beyond the group stage.

Senegal has also competed in regional tournaments, such as the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B Women’s Cup, with notable participation in 2019.

Despite not yet qualifying for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the team continues to gain experience through regional and continental competitions.

More recently, some Senegalese national matches (especially on the men’s side) have also taken place at the newly built Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade in Diamniadio.
