Bazarevich was a regular member of the senior Russian national basketball team, with whom he won silver medals at the EuroBasket 1993 and the 1994 FIBA World Championship.

He played with the Soviet Union's junior national team at the 1984 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship, where he won the gold medal.

He also represented the Soviet Union at the 1985 Summer Universiade, where he also won a gold medal.
