Shabana was third in the 1987 Kenyan First Division with 50 points (behind champions Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards), earning qualification to the 1988 edition of the then equivalent of the CAF Champions League.

[3] It had nearly collapsed in 2006 when a dispute over its relegation from the Kenyan Premier League.

Their home stadium is Gusii Stadium.On 28 October 2018, Shabana was upgraded to Kenya's second largest league The Kenya National Super League after defeating Mwatate on penalties the game that went full time 1–1 at Kasarani Stadium Nairobi.

On 28 November 2018 Gilbert Selebwa was appointed head coach, assisted by Kanuli Rix.

[5] Following the 2022/2023 NSL, Shabana emerged top of the League after edging out Kisumu All Stars on the final match of the season at a fully Packed Gusii Stadium earning them promotion to the Top tier League in Kenya, The Kenya premier League 2023/2024.
