Shahgarh is a town and a tahsil in Sagar district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
After the Gond rulers, Chhatrasal came under the control of Bundela who stationed a fort here.
After the death of Hirde Shah, his junior son Prithviraj took it under his control with the help of Bajirao Peshwa.
It is said that in 1759, when Ahmed Shah Abdali attacked India So the Marathas fought against the invaders.
