The borough of Shinglehouse is in the western part of the township, near the McKean County line.

The racial makeup of the township was 99.12% White, 0.22% African American, 0.33% Asian, 0.22% Pacific Islander, 0.11% from other races.
19.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
