Sheridan is a town in Chautauqua County, New York, United States.

(Clockwise) As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 2,838 people, 994 households, and 737 families residing in the town.

21.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

When Alstar is not available, mutual aid is requested from Fredonia, Silver Creek, or Forestville.

Law enforcement is provided by the New York State Police and Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office.
