Sherman Park is a neighborhood, located on the northwest side of Milwaukee.
It contains the neighborhoods of Grasslyn Manor,[1] Sunset Heights, Roosevelt Grove, St. Joseph's and Uptown neighborhood.
In 1891, the city brought land near the intersection of Sherman Boulevard and Burleigh Street.
[2] In 2018, the Sherman Phoenix, an indoor shopping mall, opened at 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave, in a building that formerly occupied a BMO Bank.
Between August 13 and 15, civil unrest occurred in the neighborhood after Milwaukee Police officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown fatally shot 23-year-old Sylville Smith near 44th and Auer.
