Sid Ahmed Ould Bneijara

Sid'Ahmed Ould Bneijara (1947 – 30 August 2017) was the 4th Prime Minister of Mauritania from December 12, 1980, until April 25, 1981.

Sid'Ahmed, who was not a military man, was to lead the return to civilian government.

[5] On April 25, 1981, less than five months later, Sid'Ahmed was again dismissed, after Col. Mohamed Khouna had decided to reinstate military rule.

This came as a result of the March 16 attempt at a coup d'état by the Alliance for a Democratic Mauritania (AMD).

[6] His successor, Col. Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya, on 12 December 1984 depose Col. Mohamed Khouna and himself rule the country until 2005.
