Siglap MRT station

[3][4] Contract T309 for the design and construction of Siglap Station was awarded to John Holland Pty Ltd – Zhen Hua (Singapore) Engineering Pte.

[5] Initially expected to open in 2023, the restrictions on the construction due to the COVID-19 pandemic has led to delays in the TEL line completion, and the date was pushed to 2024.

It features sculptures made of many layers of steel against a blue terracotta wall which symbolizes how shadows are cast on the moon.

[13] The second public artwork featured in Siglap MRT station features an artwork commissioned by Lim Eng Chong named Journey Across Sunlight: A Siglap Mosaic by Brian Gothong Tan was donated to the station under the Gift of Art (GoA) programme.

[14] The artwork features a mosaic art which was inspired by the works of other artists such as Iskandar Jalil’s ceramics and Edwin Thumboo’s poetry.
