However his period at Arsenal was wrecked by injury and he made just ten appearances in all competitions for the London side, scoring once in the league against Queens Park Rangers in November 1989.

He signed for Scottish club Dundee United in November 1997, where again injury reduced his opportunities to play; he made 43 league appearances, scoring once against Motherwell.
