Sir John Gell, 2nd Baronet (1613 – 8 February 1689) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1654 and 1689.
Gell was the son of Sir John Gell, 1st Baronet of Hopton, Derbyshire, and his wife Elizabeth Willoughby, daughter of Sir Percival Willoughby of Wollaton Hall, Nottinghamshire.
[2] In January 1689, he was elected MP for Derbyshire but died a month later at the age of 76.
[4] Gell married the religious patron Katherine Packer, daughter of Philippa (born Mills) and John Packer of Donnington Castle, Berkshire.
Their first child Katherine was baptised in Westminster Abbey in 1645:[5] He was succeeded in the baronetcy by his son Philip.
