Slovenia–Ukraine relations

[1] Slovenia recognized Ukraine's independence on 11 December 1991, and diplomatic relations were established three months later, on 10 March 1992.

Slovenia is a member of the NATO and European Union, which Ukraine applied to join in 2022.

Slovenia, along with Montenegro, is a Sectoral Dialogue Partner of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

During the Interwar era the Ukrainian Oblast Zakarpattia was part of Czechoslovakia, before being ceded to Hungary.

On January 1, 1993, Ukraine became one of the first countries in the world to recognize the state independence of the Slovak Republic.
