The Smeede Hotel, located in Eugene, Oregon, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
[2] George H. Park, a local builder-contractor, began construction in the Italianate style in 1884 at the behest of Charles Baker.
In 1892, Smeed improved the property and changed the name to Hotel Eugene.
The Eugene Renewal Agency purchased the three-story structure and began renovations in 1971 for commercial office space.
One noteworthy guest was William Jennings Bryan, in 1896, during his presidential campaign.
