Food Factor is the FIRST Lego League (FLL) competition for 2011-12; released on September 2.

It focuses on food safety and methods to prevent contamination.

[5] Teams are tasked with identifying a food item and tracking its journey from creation to consumption.

[6] From this, teams identify potential sources of contamination and create solutions to those problems.

In each 2+1⁄2-minute match, a team competes on each field with their robot to earn up to 452 points[8] manipulating the mission models.
