Salihorsk

Salihorsk or Soligorsk (Belarusian: Салігорск, IPA: [salʲiˈɣorsk]; Russian: Солигорск, IPA: [səlʲɪˈɡorsk]) is a city in Minsk Region, Belarus.

It serves as the administrative center of Salihorsk District.

[1] The city is one of the country's newest settlements; its construction began in 1958.

In Dec 2002 Soligorsk hosted the Belarusian shooting championships.

Salihorsk is the home city of Shakhtyor Soligorsk football club as well as HC Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the Belarusian Extraliga ice hockey league.
