Solvej Balle

Solvej Balle (born 16 August 1962 in Bovrup, Sønderjylland) is a Danish writer.

[1] She was born in Bovrup, Sønderjylland[2] and has studied literature and philosophy at the University of Copenhagen and holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Southern Denmark.

Balle has travelled through Europe, Australia, the United States and Canada.

[1] She was co-author of the 1989 radio play Et netværk af stemmer, from a draft by Jens Christian Grøndahl.

[2] Barbara J. Haveland's 2024 English translation of Book I of Om udregning af rumfang, On the Calculation of Volume, was longlisted for the National Book Award for Translated Literature.
