The NCAA investigated and released inconclusive findings on April 27, 1962,[8] which led to more controversy; the university regents had fired Grandelius six weeks earlier on March 17.

After leaving Colorado, Grandelius went on to assistant coaching positions in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.
