South Hampstead is a ward in the London Borough of Camden, in the United Kingdom.

[4] South Hampstead ward covers the part of the area known as "the gardens", bordered by West End Lane, Belsize Road, Finchley Road and Broadhurst Gardens.

It is served by South Hampstead station and Finchley Road & Frognal on the London Overground and Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage and West Hampstead on the Underground, in addition to several bus routes running through the area.

In April 2023, Labour Councillor Will Prince announced his resignation, citing relocation due to his job, triggering a by-election on 1 June 2023.

This was the first election in the borough where electors were required to show photographic ID,[5][6] with candidate Tommy Gale, retaining the seat for Labour.
