Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum

The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum (NPMSB; traditional Chinese: 國立故宮博物院南部院區; simplified Chinese: 国立故宫博物院南部院区; pinyin: Guólì Gùgōng Bówùyuàn Nánbù Yuànqū) is a museum in Taibao City, Chiayi County, Taiwan.

To improve the cultural equity between Northern Taiwan and Southern Taiwan, the Executive Yuan approved the construction of the southern branch of National Palace Museum on 31 December 2004 as the Asian Arts and Culture Museum.

[2] In mid April 2016, the museum was closed due to reparation work of water leakage in its main hall building.

It also features a bird-viewing platform, memorial stone for the museum establishment, waterfront stage etc.

Exhibits are sorted in to the rooms National Treasures, Asian Textiles, Search for Decorative Patterns(pottery).
