Bessemer Hall of History

The depot, built by the AGS in 1916, served passengers until the Amtrak era began in the early 1970s.

The museum houses a wide array of artifacts from the city's history as a mining, steelmaking, and industrial center.

The building also houses artifacts relating to the brief imprisonment of Martin Luther King Jr. in the city.

[3] The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 as Southern Railway Terminal Station.
