Admiral Golovko (Russian: Адмирал Головко) was the third ship of the Soviet Navy Project 58 Groznyy-class Guided Missile Cruisers (Ракетные крейсера, RKR), also known as the Kynda Class.
[1] Power was provided by two 45,000 horsepower (34,000 kW) TV-12 steam turbines, fuelled by four KVN-95/64 boilers and driving two fixed pitch screws.
[1] Launched 18 July 1962 with the name Doblestnyy (Russian: Доблестный –valiant), the vessel was renamed Admiral Golovko on 18 December 1962.
[3] Admiral Golovko was accepted to the Northern Fleet on 22 January 1965 and was initially attached to the 120th Missile Ship Brigade.
[3] The vessel formed part of a task force that supported the United Arab Republic in June 1967, particularly providing air defence of shipping in the port of Alexandria during the Six-Day War.
