Jeppe Lund Curth is the current chairman of the organisation, elected in June 2016, while Michael Sahl Hansen is the CEO.

[11] The year prior to the introduction of professional contracts in Denmark, the captains of the league clubs held a meeting on 1 May 1977 at KB's facilities in Frederiksberg with the intention of forming a players' association.

A heated debate on the association's fate before and during the 1980 general meeting took place due to a split among the board members.

Mads Øland was appointed to the newly created position as executive director in 1997 and served until 2020, hereafter he was replaced by Michael Sahl Hansen.
