Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band

[1] It was formed over the winter of 2007-2008 under the leadership of Roddy MacLeod, and assigned immediately by the RSPBA to Grade 1.

[3] The pipers had won between them 17 Highland Society of London gold medals.

[1] It wore the Isle of Skye tartan, and was sponsored by Glenfiddich, McCallum Bagpipes and Premier Percussion.

[2][4] Spirit of Scotland competed for the first at the 2008 World Pipe Band Championships, qualifying for the final and finishing in 11th place overall after one week of practice.

[3] The availability of Kilpatrick, who has led the winning drum corps at the World Championships fifteen times, resulted in Macleod reforming the band to compete at all the major competitions in 2016.
