Spoon Carter

Ernest C. Carter Jr. (December 8, 1902 – January 23, 1974), nicknamed "Spoon", was an American Negro league pitcher in the 1930s and 1940s.

A native of Harpersville, Alabama, Carter made his Negro leagues debut in 1932 at age 29 with the Memphis Red Sox and Birmingham Black Barons.

From 1942 to 1945, he played for the Homestead Grays, where he won Negro World Series championships in 1943 and 1944.
