It is part of the Wilmington, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 5.7 square miles (15 km2), all land.

As of the census[4] of 2000, there were 395 people, 162 households, and 116 families residing in the village.
