St John's Church, Colston Bassett

It is Grade II listed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as a building of special architectural or historic interest.

The lectern was funded by subscriptions from the parishioners and obtained from Whippel and Co.[5] However, the work of 1892 was of poor quality and the church soon needed restoration.

[7] The western side of the church which was in danger of collapsing owing to the dilapidated conditions of the foundations was restored by Sir Edward and Lady Le Merchant[8] at a cost of £1,000 (equivalent to £85,800 in 2023).

The churchyard contains a war memorial cross which is Grade II listed[12] It was created by Farmer & Brindley and dedicated by the Bishop of Southwell on 22 May 1920.
