St. John Nepomuk Parish Historic District

[2] At one time a Czech language newspaper was published in one of the parish buildings.

The parish school, which sits across Eleventh Street from the church, was begun in 1869.

[5] Chicago architect Adolphus Druiding designed the Gothic Revival-style church.

He is known for the many Catholic churches, schools, rectories and convents that he designed, especially in the Midwestern United States.

[6] The exterior of the church is composed of brick, which blends in with the other buildings on Soulard.
