Believed to have been originally constructed circa 4th century AD, it has been administered by Diocese of Kandanad of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

The church is located near Udayamperoor and Mulamthuruthy[further explanation needed] in Ernakulam, Kerala, India.
