St Dominic's Church, Newcastle

It is located on New Bridge Street, east of Manors railway station, in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle.

The site was originally on the line of the eastern extension of Hadrian's Wall between Pons Aelius (Newcastle) and Segedunum (Wallsend).

St Dominic's Priory is also a Grade II listed building and was registered on 30 March 1987.

The stalls were made in 1827, designed by Edward Blore and carved by Francis Ruddle.

[2] In 2004, the St Dominic's Priory was given to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle.

[5] They left in 2020,[6] and in September 2021 a community of Jesuits arrived to begin a city-centre apostolate from St Dominic's.
