St Winifred's Chapel, Holbeck is a Grade II listed parish church[1] and former private chapel in the Church of England[2] in Holbeck, Nottinghamshire, south-west of Worksop.
Holbeck is an estate village built for the Dukes of Portland at Welbeck Abbey.
St Winifred's Church was built between 1913 and 1916 to designs of Mr. McIntyre, approved with a few modifications, by Louis Ambler for the 6th Duke of Portland.
It is in a joint parish with St Winifred's Church was the traditional burial place of the Dukes of Portland at Welbeck Abbey and their families, most of whom are interred in the small churchyard.
The 4th Duke was interred in the ancient Cavendish vault, which had previously been unopened for 138 years.
