Stařeč

Stařeč (German: Startsch) is a market town in Třebíč District in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic.

Stařeč consists of two municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 census):[2] Stařeč is located about 3 kilometres (2 mi) southwest of Třebíč and 27 km (17 mi) southeast of Jihlava.

The highest point is the hill Zadní hora at 634 m (2,080 ft) above sea level.

The first written mention of Stařeč is from 1259, but the village may have already appeared in the foundation deed of Třebíč Monastery from 1101.

In 1534, it was promoted to market town again, so it probably lost this status briefly during this period.
