Standard, Illinois

Standard is a village in Putnam County, Illinois, United States.

The B.F. Berry Coal Company, a division of the Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railroad, hired John Cherry in 1905 to sink a new mine.

[3] According to the 2010 census, Standard has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.81 km2), all land.

35.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 18.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 5.8% of families and 5.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.5% of those under the age of eighteen and 5.4% of those 65 or over.
