Starr and Company was a BBC television drama series aired in 1958.
It was a soap opera, aired twice a week, Monday and Thursday.
[1] The series was set in a buoy-making firm established by retired naval engineer Joseph Starr in the fictional town of Sullbridge in south east England.
[2] Most of the cast were not known before or after, but there were several well-known players – Graham Crowden; Edna Doré; Edward Evans; Stratford Johns; Renny Lister; Warren Mitchell; Guy Kingsley Poynter; Arnold Ridley – either already established or who later became well-known.
The programme was broadcast live.
