'State of necessity') is the fourth studio album of Italian singer-songwriter Carmen Consoli, released in 2000.

The album followed the Consoli's participation in the Sanremo Music Festival 2000 with the song "In bianco e nero", and marked a significant change of style, with a softer and more acoustic sound.

[1] The title refers to Consoli's determination to embark on a new artistic phase of her career, and the song "Orfeo" is considered its manifesto.
