Stephen Hill (academic)

Stephen Roderick Hill (15 March 1946 – 18 April 2023) was a British academic.

He was also Principal of Royal Holloway College, University of London (RHC) from 2001-2009.

He then obtained a BA in Modern History at Balliol College, Oxford.

He was later awarded an MSc in Sociology at the London School of Economics (LSE) followed in 1973 by a PhD.

[1] Hill was chief editor of the British Journal of Sociology for seven years, until 2003.
