Steve Witherden

Steve Witherden is a British Labour Party politician who has been Member of Parliament for Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr since 2024.

[2] Witherden had been a teacher in the constituency for 18 years, also acting as a trade union representative since 2009 and county officer since 2015.

[3] Before the election, Witherden was a national executive member of the NASUWT teachers’ union.

In Witherden's victory speech he mentioned that "Montgomeryshire is the only seat in Wales that had never had a Labour MP so history has been made here tonight".

[5] In his maiden speech, Witherden said his priorities included the creation of Great British Energy and the elimination of zero hours contracts.
