Stookey township citizens are protected by the Signal Hill and Villa Hills volunteer fire departments and the St. Clair County Sheriff, but Belleville city police do not have jurisdiction in Stookey Township.

St. Louis Bread Company opened a new location here, relocating from downtown Belleville, in December 2016;[citation needed] followed by Burger King in September 2017.
