Stopiče (pronounced [ˈstóːpitʃɛ]; German: Stopitsch[2]) is a village in the foothills of the Gorjanci range in the City Municipality of Novo Mesto, in southeastern Slovenia.
[5] The local parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted and belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Novo Mesto.
[6] The earliest attested church at the site was mentioned in written sources in the 15th century.
The crests of the Paradeiser and Attems families are displayed above the main altar.
The Lenten painting (used to cover church furnishings during Lent) from the end of the 18th century is the work of Anton Postl.
