Stout, Iowa

Stout is a city in Grundy County, Iowa, United States.

[3] The city was named for A. V. Stout, the original owner of the town site.

[5] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.30 square miles (0.78 km2), all land.

There were 83 housing units at an average density of 284.0 per square mile (109.7/km2).

There were 84 housing units at an average density of 280.0 per square mile (108.1/km2).

17.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

14.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

About 8.5% of families and 12.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.0% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those 65 or over.
