Sumgait State University

Sumgait State University (SSU) was established on the foundation of the Industrial Institute, based on the Decree "On the Improvement of the Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan," signed by Heydar Aliyev on June 13, 2000.

Its origins date back to 1962, when it was founded in Sumgait, a center of chemical industry in Azerbaijan, to address the demand for skilled engineering professionals.

The institution comprises six faculties: Economics and Management, Engineering, Natural Sciences, History and Geography, Mathematics, and Philology, alongside 18 departments.

By a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan on February 3, 2016, and an order from the Ministry of Science and Education on March 4, 2016, Sumgait State Technical College was integrated into SSU and now operates under the university’s administration.

This building is equipped with auditoriums and laboratories that meet modern educational standards, a well-stocked library, and an information and computing center outfitted with contemporary technology.

To ensure student comfort, the dormitory offers rooms that meet high standards, quality internet access, and heating.
