Superior, Iowa

Superior is a city in Dickinson County, Iowa, United States.

[2] Superior began its historic existence in 1882 when the railroad was built through the neighborhood.

[4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.41 square miles (1.06 km2), all land.

There were 56 housing units at an average density of 130.5 per square mile (50.4/km2).

28.8% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

24.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

There were none of the families and 3.3% of the population living below the poverty line, including no under eighteens and none of those over 64.

[10] It was established on July 1, 1997, by the merger of the Estherville and Lincoln Central school districts.

[11] The northwest portion of town is served by Spirit Lake Community School District.
