SES is a registered Cambridge International Examinations School and Examination Centre [1] SES graduates also go on to study A levels, IB Diploma, High School Diploma and Advanced Placement (AP) courses in the US, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Indonesia or their home country institutions.

SES is registered with the Indonesia Ministry of Education as Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama (SPK/ a school with international cooperation).

Current projects include supporting the Yayasan Abdi Asih HIV Shelter in Surabaya and children with leukaemia at Dr Soetomo Hospital through education.

In 2015, SES secondary students constructed a recreation room in a joint venture with Somerset Hotel & Serviced Residence at Zoe’s Kindergarten.

The building is dedicated in memory of Zoe Choi Man Suen, who was a member of the Surabaya European School community who died in December 2014.
