Surprise 15

The Surprise 15 is an American sailboat that was designed by Harry R. Sindle as a daysailer and first built in 1969.

[1][3][5] The Surprise 15 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim.

It has a fractional sloop rig, a plumb stem and transom, a transom-hung rudder controlled by a tiller and a retractable centerboard.

[1][3] The boat has a draft of 3.83 ft (1.17 m) with the centerboard extended and 4 in (10 cm) with it retracted, allowing beaching or ground transportation on a trailer.

[1][3] For downwind sailing the design may be equipped with a spinnaker of 150 sq ft (14 m2).
