During the 41st Canadian Parliament, Truppe served as parliamentary secretary to the Minister responsible for the Status of Women.

In the 2015 Canadian federal election, Truppe ran unsuccessfully for re-election, coming second behind challenger Peter Fragiskatos of the Liberal Party of Canada.

On November 4, 2016, Truppe announced that she would seek the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario (PC) nomination in London North Centre.
