The Miss World organizers offered 1st runner-up Evangeline Pascual of the Philippines the duties but not the title.
However, Pascual turned down the offer because she already have commitments in being an actress in the Philippines at the time.
[6] Patsy Yuen of Jamaica who placed 2nd Runner-Up performed some of the duties and responsibilities of Miss World that had already been scheduled, without holding the title.
