Szczaniec [ˈʂt͡ʂaɲɛt͡s] is a village in Świebodzin County, Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland.
It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Szczaniec.
[1] It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) east of Świebodzin, 39 km (24 mi) north of Zielona Góra, and 60 km (37 mi) south-east of Gorzów Wielkopolski.
During World War II, in 1940–1941, Nazi Germany operated a forced labour camp for Jewish men in the village.
