Taga (多賀町, Taga-chō) is a town located in Inukami District, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
The Taga clan were dispossessed after the Battle of Sekigahara and the region came under the control of Hikone Domain under the Edo period Tokugawa shogunate.
Taga has a mayor-council form of government with a directly elected mayor and a unicameral city council of 12 members.
Taga, collectively with the other municipalities of Inukami District, contributes one member to the Shiga Prefectural Assembly.
In terms of national politics, the city is part of Shiga 2nd district of the lower house of the Diet of Japan.
