Taizé, Saône-et-Loire

Taizé (French pronunciation: [tɛze] ⓘ) is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department in the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in eastern France.

It is composed of more than one hundred brothers, from Protestant and Catholic traditions, who originate from about thirty countries across the world.

[3] Taizé is today known as a place of pilgrimage, primarily for young adults: every week, hundreds and thousands of visitors, generally between the ages of 17 and 30, visit Taizé for an experience of prayer and communal life.

The river Grosne forms all of the commune's western border.

The asteroid 100033 Taizé was discovered by Freimut Börngen on April 9, 1990.
