Takestan (Persian: تاكستان)[a] is a city in the Central District of Takestan County, Qazvin province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.

Most of the population of Takestan belong to the Tat ethnic group[5] and Azerbaijanis.

[6][7][8][9] At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 73,625 in 18,685 households.
